School projects focus of CEFP forums

Input sought regarding work on buildings

FAIRMONT — If the weather holds, the community will get an opportunity to discuss the state of school buildings tonight.

Every 10 years, the board of education updates its Comprehensive Educational Facilities Plan. That’s the guiding document when it comes to repairing and replacing schools and the order in which that happens.

If you’ve ever wondered why certain schools are chosen when it’s time to ask for state money to repair or replace a school, it’s because of the priority list in the CEFP.

The Marion County Board of Education wants the community’s input on the CEFP, so there are three forums scheduled. Two will take place this week.
