FAIRMONT — When the Marion County Chamber of Commerce thinks about youth, they see tomorrow’s leaders and a great deal of potential.
Tina Shaw, president of the chamber, said the youth programs are strong ones that continue to grow each year.
“The three high schools cooperate with us and they look forward to the business community’s connection with the students,” she said.
The chamber hosts four educational programs: The Mad City Money program for ninth-graders, the High School Business Symposium for 10th-graders, the Youth Leadership program for 11th-graders and the Senior Forum for 12th-graders.
All of the programs are highly competitive. Students at the county’s three high schools and the Marion County Technical Center apply for the program at the school level.
