FAIRMONT — The national debt, Social Security, immigration and congressional term limits — especially congressional term limits — were hot topics during a Saturday afternoon forum sponsored by the North Central West Virginia Tea Party, with the six Republican candidates for the 1st Congressional District participating.
“It breeds corruption,” said Patty Levenson of Wheeling when the candidates were asked if they would support a Constitutional amendment imposing term limits of members of Congress. “This should be a service, not a career.”
“Twenty-eight years is too long for anybody to be in the same office,” said Sarah Minear, a former state senator from Elkins who now lives in Morgantown.
