FAIRMONT — When Jayenne Elementary principal Andy Neptune first started in the position, he envisioned a new school sign.
Covered by vines, the sign gave off the vibe that the school wasn’t even open and left no room to post announcements. With the help of private donors, the sign was replaced. But that wasn’t enough. Having the sign illuminated at night would really enhance the appearance of the school.
Thanks to 25,000 box tops, Jayenne lit up the sign just a week ago for the first time.
Neptune is grateful for two parent volunteers who have been especially helpful: Karen Angelo and Toni Brannen. Leading the way, the women have garnered so much community support.
