FAIRMONT —
A Marion County man was arrested Wednesday by Marion County Sheriff’s deputies after they confiscated 79 marijuana plants valued at least $100,000 from his rural Marion County home.
According to Sheriff Joe Carpenter, 48-year-old Kelly Goh, of 110 Hoult Road, Fairmont, is being charged with felony possession with intent to deliver and manufacture of marijuana.
The discovery came Tuesday evening after deputies stopped a second individual in a routine traffic stop in front of the residence, and “smelled a strong odor of marijuana” and found marijuana leaves outside the residence, Carpenter said.
Inside, deputies found the plants, which Carpenter called “very high potency,” along with lights, heaters, timers and fans.
Goh later admitted to deputies of growing and selling the plants for a few years.
He was apprehended early Wednesday evening outside a Merchant street business, where a search warrant was conducted, Carpenter said.
Goh is being held in the North Central Regional Jail on $500,000 cash/surety bond.
Carpenter said the investigation is continuing.
