Allegheny near total restoration; more snow forecast for Monday

By Mary Wade Burnside

FAIRMONT — A week after “Snowmageddon” hit, followed by another mid-week storm, Allegheny Power expected to have power restored to all Marion County residents by midnight Saturday, just in time for people to venture out and re-stock their now-working refrigerators before a new storm hits Monday.

“Snow will start moving in Monday morning,” said Andrew Ulrich, a meteorologist with Accuweather.com in State College, Pa. “It looks like 6 in the morning; the snow will be pretty steady throughout the day into Monday night. The total accumulation we’re going to get is 4 to 8 inches, although some meteorologists are saying 4 to 6 inches.”

This storm is coming in from the northern plains and will move into the mid-Mississippi Valley and then into the Ohio Valley, Ulrich said.
