Dr. Kent Thrush praises generosity displayed in area

FAIRMONT — A Fairmont orthopedic surgeon made a major impact on an area medical group going to Haiti to assist the earthquake-ravaged country.

Dr. David Fogerty of Morgantown said that Dr. Kent Thrush played a big role in the success of the surgeons going to Haiti 10 days after the earthquake struck.

The plastic surgeon from Morgantown said that “we took a team down from Morgantown to operate. I had been there four or five times previously. Many of the cases were orthopedic cases. We went down because of the crush injuries to people’s arms and legs. There have been a lot of fractures.

“Before we left, I called Kent Thrush in Fairmont. I called him when we made the decision to go. I asked him if he could assist us in rounding up supplies and donations from Fairmont and Marion County.”
