FAIRMONT —
Now that $34.8 million in financing has been secured to do renovations to the new Highland Hospital in Clarksburg, officials have announced that work will begin Jan. 2 of next year and will be done in time to open in January 2014.
Also, interviews to begin hiring for the 294 positions of staff members to run the hospital probably will begin late summer or early fall of next year, said spokesman Jim Strawn.
“It’s very exciting,” he said. “We’re moving forward now.”
Renovations will begin nearly three years after the announcement was made in early February 2010 that the Charleston-based psychiatric facility would be taking over the old United Hospital Center building once it moved to Bridgeport in October 2010.
