FAIRMONT —
An employee of Marion County Schools is facing a five-day suspension with no pay.
The Marion County Board of Education had scheduled a special session for a service personnel hearing Monday night at the Central Office of Marion County Schools. After the employee and Superintendent of Schools Gary Price and their counsels discussed the matter, the worker decided not to contest the suspension and withdrew the request for a hearing.
The employee’s lawyer said this is not an admission of any wrongdoing by his client.
The witnesses for the hearing were excused after this arrangement was made.
Price recommended that the employee be suspended for five days without pay for actions that were inappropriate.
