MANNINGTON —
Officials are accepting suggestions for the naming of the Clarksburg Street Bridge in Mannington.
During Tuesday’s city council meeting, Mayor Robert Garcia said over the past two weeks city hall has received several calls of names being proposed for the new bridge. Calls started coming in after a name was proposed during the last meeting.
In his report, Garcia said he wanted to give a list of names to the Bridge Committee so its members could look them over and recommend names to council.
Councilman Terry Starsick suggested that because council members are elected officials and the Bridge Committee is comprised of appointed officials, council should choose names and have more input.
