MONONGAH —
When a challenge is set in front of them, Monongah Elementary students respond.
The call for help was announced in November. Teachers immediately started collecting canned items and personal-hygiene items after Thanksgiving for the school’s annual food drive, which has quickly become a tradition there.
“This is a very giving community,” principal Rob Moore said. “The people that live in this community are very giving. When they knew that we were trying to have a food drive to help people in the community, they were all for it.”
