Dec. 25 may have passed and the gifts may have all been unwrapped, but Christmas isn’t over just yet.
Stores are still bustling as shoppers take advantage of post-holiday discounts. With marked-down toys and half-priced decorations to offer, many retailers are just as busy in the days after Christmas as they are in the ones leading up to it.
Cindy Zemerick, of Fairmont, said she was visiting the stores trying to find a good bargain.
“I’m looking for decorations for next year — lights, and I might look for a new Christmas tree,” she said.
National and local retailers alike advertised 50 percent off sales on Christmas-related items beginning as early as Dec. 26. Shelves were stocked with discounted ornaments, garland and lights, and bins were filled with dolls, action figures and video games for shoppers to search through.
