FAIRMONT — City council has a light agenda planned for tonight’s meeting.
City Manager Jay Rogers and City Attorney Kevin Sansalone are unable to attend the meeting because of pressing matters out of town, so City Finance Director Eileen Layman will be serving as acting city manager in their absence.
Council is poised to approve the final reading of an ordinance that seeks to authorize the Region VI Planning and Development Council with the power to prepare the legal paperwork and contracts involved in implementing the city’s corrective action plan to fix the water-treatment system.
In other business, the city has received invoices regarding the ongoing construction of the Mannington water project. Council will be discussing a resolution that directs payment of these invoices.
