MANNINGTON —
Plans for the replacement of Mannington’s Clarksburg Street Bridge are continuing.
During Monday’s meeting, city council members approved the second reading of the ordinance to provide funding for the project.
Tom Annan, of Steptoe and Johnson, read the ordinance to council members. It was the second of three readings council must approve in order to begin the building process.
The Mannington Building Commission approved the reading earlier in the evening. In addition, a letter to the commission from the U.S. Department of Agriculture stated that “a loan application has been received from the Mannington Building Commission for a USDA Rural Development Community Facilities direct loan in the amount of $203,400.”
The remaining cost of the project, $2,213,600, will be funded by the Federal Highway Administration, State of West Virginia, Marion County Development Authority, Marion County Commission and the City of Mannington.
