FAIRMONT —
During what many have described as the storm of the century last month, Barry Bledsoe, a member of the Marion County Rescue Squad Board of Directors, felt that the county’s 911 system was not working properly, and hadn’t been for quite some time.
But in a Marion County 911 Advisory Board meeting Tuesday, county administrator Kris Cinalli said no one had spoken up to indicate they shared the same views.
After the storm, Bledsoe said there were huge blocks of time in which fire departments, EMS and police departments had no communication through their radios. As a result they were missing calls, especially since no one made them aware that the system was allegedly down in the first place.
