FAIRMONT —
“Fired up and ready to go” was one of the many rallying cries shouted during this week’s Democratic National Convention, and Marion County Democrats are still feeling that energy following the president’s acceptance speech on Thursday night, the end of the convention.
“It was unbelievable,” said Belinda Biafore, vice-chairwoman of the West Virginia Democratic Party and Marion County resident. “There was emotion (and) there was energy in that convention hall.”
“I think folks left there feeling good about the convention,” said West Virginia Democratic Party Chairman Larry Puccio, also a Marion Countian. “Very upbeat and energetic, with good speakers from start to finish.”
The national convention, which nominated President Barack Obama as the Democratic candidate for a second term as president, featured major speeches from Democrat and Republican public figures from the past and present, as well as military veterans, students, business owners and more.

Three Rivers Festival features variety of entertainment

Hearing set for murder suspects
