Adult day-report center approved

New sentencing option for non-violent offenders to be available

FAIRMONT — Marion County will officially have a new sentencing option for non-violent criminal offenders in the near future.

This week, commissioners approved a $100,000 West Virginia Community Corrections grant from the Division of Criminal Justice Services to create an adult day-report center in county limits.

Commissioner Burley “Butch” Tennant said the center will be located somewhere within the county courthouse, and pinning down exactly where will be the next step in the creation of the facility.
