BUNNER RIDGE — About two years ago, the Bunner Ridge Community Center caught fire and burned to the ground.
Ever since, the community has been raising funds to rebuild a new center, and on Friday at Bunner Ridge Park, they were $5,000 closer to being done.
Edwin Bunner, vice president of the Bunner Ridge Community Association, said the group invited people from the community and for a presentation of the $5,000 grant from the West Virginia Legislature.
“We had this get-together to get some grants,” Bunner said. “Mike Manypenny has one to present to us today.”
State government was represented by Delegate Mike Manypenny, D-Taylor, and state Sen. Bob Beach, D-Monongalia. Businesses and those in the community who have supported the rebuild of the community center were also present.
