Day of prayer, reflection planned

Event will honor the four Americans killed in attack on U.S. Consulate in Libya

FAIRMONT — Coming on the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the United States, the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, has saddened and angered many Americans.

Fairmont General Hospital is offering a day of “prayer and reflection” from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the hospital chapel for all concerned.

A floral tribute will be provided by Kime Floral.

“This is for everyone,” said FGH chaplain James Riggs.

The arrangement will consist of four red roses, representing the four Americans killed in the incident — Ambassador J. Christopher Smith, and Sean Smith, Glen A. Doherty and Tyrone S. Woods — and 10 white spider mums in memory of the Libyans who died defending Americans, he said.
