Simply Floors LLC gives that “old-fashioned, home touch.”
Business partners and co-owners Terri Morrison and Shawn Reed held the grand opening for their store, located at 126 Adams St. in downtown Fairmont, on June 3. Simply Floors, which is family owned and operated, offers all types of flooring, including carpet, vinyl, laminate, hardwood, ceramic and more.
Morrison said they wanted to bring old-fashioned business and that personal touch back to Fairmont. They take samples to the customers so they can view the flooring in their own homes. This service allows clients to make sure that the flooring is the true color they want and complements the room’s lighting and furniture.
“We truly care about our customers,” she said.
Simply Floors also carries a green line of flooring using renewable resources. The selections are made from recycled plastics and other recycled materials. Right now, customers can choose from 12 renewable options, which include carpets of different textures and colors, Morrison said.
She said the business is trying to get into even more green products.
Simply Floors serves customers throughout North Central West Virginia — from Clarksburg to Morgantown — and beyond, Morrison said. The team has also gone down to Weston to do work.
Morrison said she and Reed have known each other for about 17 years. Morrison’s fiancé, David Griffith, and Reed formerly worked together at a carpet store, which is how they met. After selling flooring through other venues for years, they finally decided to open a store of their own.
Reed and Griffith, who helps out at Simply Floors, have more than 35 years of combined experience in flooring installation.
“(We have) a lot of experience and a lot of pride in what we do,” Morrison said. “This is our livelihood.”
Simply Floors isn’t just a business, but is also involved in the community, she said. Even before opening in Fairmont, Simply Floors joined Main Street Fairmont and the Marion County Chamber of Commerce.
“They know that they can depend on us also,” Morrison said.
She said she is pleased with the way business is going so far. The store has only been in operation for a short time, but is already self-sufficient.
Simply Floors LLC is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and by appointment.
