FAIRMONT —
The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook and a flash-flood watch for Marion County.
As of 10:35 a.m., a flash-flood watch is in effect for Marion County, as well as Western Maryland, East Central Ohio, Southwest Pennsylvania, North Central West Virginian and the Northern Panhandle.
Counties, in addition to Marion, affected are Garrett, Monroe, Greene, Westmoreland, Westmoreland Ridges, Fayette, Fayette Ridges, Marshall, Wetzel, Monongalia, Preston and Tucker.
The watch is in effect until late tonight.
According to the National Weather Service, there is a slight risk for severe thunderstorms late this afternoon and early tonight. The primary threat will be damaging winds with large hail possible.
A warm front will bring showers and thunderstorms this afternoon, then a cold front will bring strong to severe thunderstorms tonight,” the alert reads. “With the ground already saturated from previous rains, heavy thunderstorms producing an inch to an inch and a half of rainfall can lead to flash flooding. In addition, creeks and small streams may rise quickly out of their banks and flood adjacent low lying roads and property.”

Police investigating bank robbery in White Hall
The White Hall Police Department is handling the investigation and is being assisted by the Marion County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI. Fairmont City Police provided aid Saturday morning, said Patrolman Caleb Krepps of the White Hall Police Department.
