The Bees, playing in their first regional final game since 2001, took on the John Marshall Monarchs in a knock-down, drag-out basketball game for a spot in next week’s state tournament. With the stands packed with very vocal supporters, it almost seemed like the game was for the state title. In the end the Monarchs were the ones left standing, eliminating East with a 64-61 victory to earn one of the Region I spots in the state tournament.
