Fairmont Senior High School students in Kathy Jacquez’s science classes use gadgets called NOVAs to collect information and generate reports. The miniature computers are about the size of a large-print paperback book. Jacquez said they were originally developed for military uses, such as guiding missiles. The equipment was on loan last year from the state board of education because Jacquez spent the summer traveling the state teaching other teachers how to use them.
