FAIRMONT — City Hall may be considering a proposal for an excess levy to raise the money needed to repair and repave city streets.
“We need to do something — we’re at the point now where we are patching patches,” said Joe Feltz, public works director, to city council during a special work session Tuesday. “We need to invest in ourselves.”
City Hall is preparing a levy so it can appear on the ballot for the May primary in 2010. A similar levy was narrowly defeated in 2006.
